Athena (Updated 2/17)

Athena is a character who had been teased for quite a while in the beta before appearing alongside Winston in the short “Recall”. She takes the role of announcer in the game. Her voice is also heard in the MV-261 Orca which acts as the spawn rooms for most Control maps.

Hanamura Arcade posters (Updated 2/7)

In the Hanamura arcade there are several posters featuring human and robotic characters. Some of these posters can be found on other maps as well. They have been widely theorized to be teasers for a new hero, or several heroes.

Liao (Updated 2/8)

Liao is one of the founding members of Overwatch and the only one not currently playable in the game. Liao's full name, gender, and appearance are all still a mystery. As such, they are a highly anticipated character in the lore.
