Recall Portraits (Updated 2/14)

Towards the end of the animated short "Recall", several portraits of Overwatch members flash across the screen. Many of these characters are similar to designs present in earlier concept art, some have since been identified, and some might just be filler.

2/14 Update:
  • Spacing
  • Links
  • Minor additions

Portrait #1: The Man with the Cybernetic Jaw

This fellow is present in the character poster first seen at the Overwatch reveal back in 2014.

And even earlier, he was part of the lineup in concept art so far only seen in the Overwatch Museum at Blizzard HQ.

Portrait #2: Mirembe

Mirembe has been identified via the Ana comic "Legacy".

Portrait #3: Mullet Man

Portrait #4: Yellow Visor Man

Due to the shape of #4's visor being similar to the Successor's silhouette, many theorize that this portrait depicts Doomfist.

Portrait #5: Goggle Man

Portrait #6: Beret Man

Portrait #7: Kimiko

Kimiko has been identified via the Ana comic "Legacy".

Portrait #8: Nondescript Man

Portrait #9: Another Nondescript Man

Portrait #10: Very Interesting Looking Lady

Portrait #11: A Crusader-type suit or Omnic

Portrait #12: Blue Visor Man

Portrait #13: Orange Visor Man

Portrait #14: White Omnic

Being a robot with a white/blue color scheme, #14 is believed to possibly be Athena.

Portrait #15: Big Red

This character has been spotted in concept art.

The yellow circles on this character's chest is the main support for the theory that they are Sound Quake, as it is known that he has chest missiles.

Notes and Speculation

  • The blurred info to the left of the portraits is placeholder text. This became even more evident when Mirembe and Kimiko were introduced since their names don't match the "Recall" profiles at all.
    • This blurred text is one of the reasons the name "Bleak" has been attributed to #1. The Bleak text is also used in the name field for #3.
